A Historic Season, Thanks to You
As a Giving Circle member, you play a vital role in sustaining the artistic excellence and community impact of the SLSO. Thanks to your generosity, we are celebrating a historic season with the orchestra’s return to Powell Hall at the new Jack C. Taylor Music Center. We are pleased to present some of this season’s highlights, made possible by your support
- In September, the SLSO celebrated the grand reopening of Powell Hall at the new Jack C. Taylor Music Center, welcoming approximately 6,000 patrons to its opening weekend concerts, which featured the world premiere of House of Tomorrow by Composer-in-Residence Kevin Puts, and raising $1.5 million at the Grand Opening Gala.
- On November 8, more than 1,000 visitors explored the Jack C. Taylor Music during Community Day. More than a dozen performances by SLSO partner institutions, including Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, The Repertory Theatre, and Saint Louis Dance Theatre, took place throughout the venue.
- On November 12 and 13, the SLSO welcomed more than 6,000 students to Wild Symphony, our first education concert of the season, which also featured dancers from Ballet 314.
- On November 20, the SLSO launched Playlist, a new happy-hour series designed as an inviting introduction to live classical music, featuring musical insights from Music Director Stéphane Denève.
- In December, nearly 15,000 people gathered at Powell Hall to celebrate the holiday season, attending performances of Handel’s Messiah, IN UNISON Christmas, the Mercy Holiday Celebration, Home Alone in Concert, and the annual New Year’s Eve Celebration.
We are excited to introduce these quarterly Giving Circle newsletters to keep you informed about the impact of your generosity, highlight upcoming events and experiences offered in recognition of your support, and share updates on the work you make possible throughout the season. We are deeply grateful for your continued commitment to the SLSO and for your essential role in ensuring that music remains a vibrant and enduring force in our community.
