Introducing Our Bold New Brand Identity

Today, we’re redefining what it means to be an American orchestra in the 21st century. As the opening of the reimagined Powell Hall at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center launches a new era for music in St. Louis, our exciting new brand, All Together Now, embodies our dynamic spirit and artistry. All Together Now conveys who we are—and who we’re becoming.

Bold, yet nuanced. Sophisticated, yet fun. Transformative, yet respectful. Approachable, yet extraordinary. Just as multiple notes combine to create a chord, these qualities create our distinctive character. The SLSO is never one-note. All of us—musicians, audience, community—create a shared experience, brought together by the power of music.  

The new brand expression isn’t just a refresh. It’s a purposeful evolution that honors our rich heritage while boldly stepping into the future.

About the Design 

Our visual identity flows and transforms. An expressive ribbon forms the new SLSO monogram and elegant illustrations of instruments, echoing the movements of a conductor. Vibrant colors reflect the SLSO’s vitality as we redefine the role of an American orchestra. Paired with Frequency Serif, a typeface designed exclusively for the SLSO, our identity captures the rhythm and movement that defines live music.   

The brand was developed by Natasha Jen and Eddie Opara, partners of the acclaimed design firm Pentagram, in extensive collaboration with our community of artists, audiences, and stakeholders.
