St. Louis County Library and St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Announce New Partnership

Vouchers for free tickets to SLSO newcomers available at all SLCL branches beginning January 17

(January 17, 2024)–St. Louis County Library (SLCL) and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) are excited to announce a new partnership aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation for symphonic music within the community. Starting January 17, all SLCL branches will provide free SLSO concert vouchers to library patrons. Vouchers will be available at any SLCL branch, while supplies last. Each voucher provides up to two tickets to a classical concert or up to four tickets to a family concert for first-time SLSO attendees. There is a limit of one voucher per patron.

This innovative initiative highlights both organizations’ commitment to inclusivity and education. By providing free concert tickets to new audiences, the partnership seeks to introduce classicalmusic to a broader audience, breaking down barriers and making the rich cultural experience of symphonic music accessible to all.

Kristen Sorth, St. Louis County Library Director & CEO said, “This collaboration with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra aligns perfectly with our mission to support the community by providing access to a wide range of cultural experiences. This partnership will connect patrons to an incredible St. Louis institution, fostering a love for music that will resonate for years to come.”

Marie-Hélène Bernard, SLSO President and CEO, said, “We are grateful to the St. Louis County Library team for its partnership in providing access to the remarkably talented musicians of the SLSO. We believe music is a shared human experience and look forward to welcoming new audiences to orchestra performances through this collaborative initiative.”

During the expansion and renovation of historic Powell Hall, the SLSO is performing throughout the St. Louis region, with most concerts at the Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, and Stifel Theatre.
