St. Louis Symphony Orchestra adds concerts to its milestone 2025/26 season, including one-night-only collaborations with singer-songwriter Ben Rector and acclaimed Broadway actor Bernadette Peters

Today, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) announced additional concerts for its 2025/26 season—its milestone 146th and first in the Jack C. Taylor Music Center, which includes the renovated Powell Hall and a 64,000-square-foot expansion.

Additions to the season with include:

  • Route 66 Rewind with the Doo Wop Project | 7:30pm, Saturday, May 30, 2026
  • Ben Rector: Symphonies Across America | 7:30pm, Friday, June 5
  • An Evening with Bernadette Peters | 8:00pm, Friday, June 12, 2026
  • Beethoven X Coldplay | 7:30pm, Friday, June 26, 2026

Route 66 Rewind with the Doo Wop Project

Road trip through America’s musical past as the SLSO teams up with the Doo Wop Project as part of the Route 66 Centennial. This performance of vintage soul and seamless harmonies highlights the iconic sounds that shaped American music through the evolution of Doo Wop. Favorites like “Tears of a Clown,” “Sherry,” and “Walk like a Man,” along with “Doo Wopified” renditions of modern hits make this concert a tour-de-force of Americana. This feel-good celebration that brings generations together—just like the Mother Road herself.

Ben Rector: Symphonies Across America

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Ben Rector joins the SLSO for a moving musical tribute to America’s 250th anniversary and the places we call home. Inspired by 15 years of touring across the country, this performance pairs Rector’s most popular originals with new orchestral works honoring the American songbook. Equal parts golden era pop, Broadway shine, and modern hymn, the evening showcases the honest lyrics and magnetic stage presence Rector is known for. A heartfelt symphonic celebration of the country’s cities, stories, and spirit is brought to life by one of today’s most beloved independent artists.

The legendary Bernadette Peters—Tony Award-winning star of stage and screen—and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra team up for a concert that brings Broadway to the concert hall. With her signature charisma and unmatched artistry, Peters brings to life iconic songs by Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and more. This one-night-only performance offers an intimate concert experience with one of musical theater’s most luminous voices in a cross-genre event for Broadway and symphony fans alike.

Beethoven X Coldplay

Classical genius meets pop brilliance in this unique mash up. Composer-conductor Steve Hackman transforms Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, “Eroica,” seamlessly interweaving Coldplay’s greatest hits—“Yellow,” “Viva la Vida,” “The Scientist,” and more. Performed alongside acclaimed guest vocalists, this powerful concert reimagines Beethoven’s struggles and triumphs through the lens of 21st-century rock. Hackman previously brought his signature fusion of classical and pop music to St. Louis with Brahms X Radiohead (February 2024) and Beethoven X Beyoncé (January 2025).
