Miles Goodman The Muppet Christmas CarolÂ
About this Concert
Join Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and all your favorite Muppets in this merry, magical version of Charles Dickens’ classic tale. Michael Caine stars as Ebenezer Scrooge, a penny-pinching grump who—with the help of Kermit as his clerk Bob Cratchit and a few ghostly visits—learns to open his heart to the true meaning of Christmas. Watch this beloved holiday classic on the big screen as the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performs the score live to picture.Â

- The film’s original score was composed by Miles Goodman with songs written by Paul Williams. Williams previously worked on the soundtrack to The Muppet Movie (1979), co-writing “Rainbow Connection,” which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Goodman went on to score several films directed by Muppet performer Frank Oz, including 1986’s Little Shop of Horrors.Â
- The Muppet Christmas Carol is the fourth theatrical film featuring the Muppets. It is the first Muppet film where a human (Michael Caine) is the main protagonist, as well as the first where Muppets play characters other than themselves.Â
- Adapted from the 1843 novella A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, the film takes some artistic license to fit the Muppets’ aesthetic but remains largely faithful to the original story.Â
