About this Concert
Join Jules Buckley, Grammy Award-winning composer, conductor, and arranger, as he celebrates some of Quincy Jones’ seminal musical works with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and a live band. Quincy Jones and Jules Buckley worked together for nearly a decade to bring these iconic tunes to life, creating brand-new orchestral arrangements, which Quincy himself described as retaining the “bounce, the bite, and the euphoria” of the original recordings. Buckley has described working with Quincy Jones as “absolutely the highest honor,” and is humbled and thankful to be able to share a part of Q’s musical legacy with you.

- Quincy Jones’ celebrated, seven-decade career includes his work as a record producer, composer, arranger, record executive, conductor, trumpeter, film and television producer, and bandleader. During his lifetime, he received 28 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Tony Award, as well as nominations for 7 Academy Awards and 4 Golden Globe Awards.
- Jones seamlessly crossed generations and styles, working with Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Count Basie on classic jazz recordings, then later shaping the sound of modern pop and R&B with artists like Lesley Gore, Michael Jackson, and Donna Summer. He also produced and conducted the landmark single “We are the World” for famine relief and composed iconic scores for Roots and Sanford and Son, showcasing his versatility across film, television, and pop music.
- Jules Buckley and Quincy Jones have brought audiences around the globe to their feet, from London’s Royal Albert Hall to Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. Their celebrated collaboration culminated in Quincy’s 90th birthday celebration concerts in 2023, featuring an all-star musical lineup with Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Samara Joy, Jennifer Hudson, and more.
