Peter and the Wolf: A Digital Concert

Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf is performed by the SLSO with Music Director Stéphane Denève and narrator Alicia Revé Like, recorded on May 7-9, 2021. In this classic orchestral story, each character is portrayed by a different instrument. It’s a great way to learn about the sounds of the orchestra.

A virtual adventure to the Endangered Wolf Center in Eureka, Missouri frames the concert. Your students will learn about Prokofiev’s compositional choices and all the things he did not know about wolves. Maybe that wolf isn’t such a menace after all… and maybe your students would have written different music for him!

Registration grants you free access to the SLSO’s performance of Peter and the Wolf, additional content from the Endangered Wolf Center, and a teacher guide filled with cross-curricular classroom activities. On-demand access will be available until July 31, 2024.

This school year, educators can access all digital education programs through one registration form.
