Upcoming Workshops

Make Music, Not Noise
Curious about how to use instruments in your early childhood classroom? This workshop offers ideas for building a classroom instrument collection, introducing instruments, and using instruments to teach across the curriculum. We’ll discuss how to include all students in music-making, with special attention to those with sensory differences.
Wed, Feb 4, 5:00-7:00pm in the Education and Learning Center at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center
Workshop is free. Space is limited. Registration opens Fri, Aug 1.

Giraffes Can’t Dance
The story of Giraffes Can’t Dance is the springboard for lessons and activities that will demonstrate how to get your Pre-K – K students moving and making music as they learn. This hands-on workshop will introduce a variety of easy-to-implement lesson plans and activities that use music to teach across the early childhood curriculum, including in literacy, math, and social-emotional development. No prior music experience is required.
Register for either the online or in-person workshop. The same content will be presented at both.
Thu, Oct 23, 5:00-6:30pm, online
Sat, Oct 25, 10:00am-12:00pm at Powell Hall at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center
