Anya Akhmadullina
Anya Akhmadullina is a junior at Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri. She started playing the violin at four years old and this is her first season with the St. Louis Youth Orchestra.
Anya has been selected for the 1st violin section of the Missouri All-State Orchestra two years in a row. While she didn’t attend the conference in 2022, she was Concertmaster in 2023. Anya participates in MMTA competitions yearly for both violin and piano, winning ten times. In November 2022, she won both the 10th – 12th Grade String Division and the 10th Grade Piano division of MMTA, held at SEMO in Cape Girardeau, MO.
In the summer of 2023, Anya attended the Musica Mundi festival in Belgium featuring artists Misha Maisky, Maxim Vengerov, Grigory Sokolov, and Nikolai Lugansky.
Anya currently takes lessons with Professor Julie Rosenfeld and coachings from Scott Yoo, chief conductor of the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra. She would like to thank her past teachers, Amy Appold, Pavel Ilyashov, Renan Leme, and Siri Geenen, for their instruction and for inspiring her to be the musician she is today.
