Charles Randall
Charles Randall, 18, is a senior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis, Missouri. This is Charles’ sixth and final season as a St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra bassoonist.
Charles has played the bassoon for seven years and plays in his school’s Symphonic Band. Charles’ musical honors include Missouri All-State Band, St. Louis All-Suburban Honors Band, St. Louis Middle School All-Suburban Honors Band, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Charles is also a former member of the Webster University Community Music School’s Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra and Young People’s Concert Orchestra.
Outside of music, Charles plays competitive tennis and is a member of his school’s varsity tennis team, which won the 2022 and 2023 Missouri Class 2 State Team Championships. Most recently, Charles won the 2024 Missouri Class 2 State Doubles Championship.
Charles is thankful for the support of his musical educators, including his instructors, Felicia Foland and Donita Bauer, as well as the SLSO musicians and the Ladue Schools band program.
