Youth Orchestra
Elizabeth Carroll
Elizabeth Carroll is 14 years old and attends Visitation Academy as a freshman. This is her first year with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Carroll has played piano for 9 years and studies with Nina Ferrigno. As a child, Carroll played violin and sang in the St. Louis Children’s Choir, but soon concentrated her focus on piano. She enjoys playing chamber music and was given the Rising Star Award last season at CMS’s Preparatory Program. She currently participates in the Chamber Academy at the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis. At MMTA, Carroll was awarded runner up for 24-25. She has been awarded with five Artistic Merit Scholarships from CMS, including ones from the Steinway Piano Gallery and the Monticello College Foundation. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, studying music theory, going to concerts, and doing crafts. Carroll is also an active member of her Orthodox Christian parish.
Carroll thanks all of the musical influences in her life, specifically Nina Ferrigno, Sarah McGuirk, Laura Holzen, and Lana Richard for everything they have taught her. She would also like to thank her parents for providing positive support and driving her almost every day to music, as well as her sister who has to endure her repeating the same measures far too late at night. But most of all, she would like to thank God Who has guided her throughout many situations, and made everything possible.
