Jayden Liu is a sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis studying economics and mathematics. He has been playing the clarinet for ten years and is looking forward to his first season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Jayden has played with various regional ensembles in the Washington, D.C. area, beginning with his elementary school band. He was principal clarinet of the All-Virginia Symphonic Band in 2020 and 2021, as well as first clarinet in the 2021 All-National Honor Ensembles Symphony Orchestra. He has also studied with and performed in Professor David Martins’ studio at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute in 2021 and 2022. Apart from clarinet, Jayden also enjoys playing piano, reading, and hiking. He has a long-term goal to visit as many national parks as he can.

Jayden would like to thank his family and his teachers, Ms. Dana Hotle, Mr. Kenneth Lee, Dr. Marjorie Lee, and Mr. Daniel Lee, for supporting him as a student and musician over the years.
