Kimmi Lin
Kimmi Lin is a junior at the Ladue Horton Watkins High School. She started playing drums at age 7. At age 11, she started playing timpani and marimba under the tutelage of percussionists Tim and Kurena Crockett.
In the past 4 years, Kimmi has played with various orchestras in the greater St. Louis area, including the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, Young People’s Concert Orchestra and Town & Country Symphony Orchestra. She was the winner of the St. Charles Community College Orchestra Concerto challenge in 2020 and the Town & Country Symphony Orchestra Rising Talents competition in 2023 and was first chair in Missouri All State Orchestra Timpani in consecutive years 2022 and 2023. More recently, she was selected by the National Symphony Youth Orchestra (Taiwan) with full scholarship, and performed at multiple cities in Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore in the summer of 2024. In her spare time, Kimmi enjoys reading, composing her own music, and going out with friends.
Kimmi is thankful for her many talented and dedicated musician educators: percussion instructor Tim Crockett, marimba instructor Kurena Yamaguchi Crockett, high school percussion teacher Erin Elstner, and piano accompanist Nancy Mayo.
