Rachel Kauffman

Saint Louis Community College

Rachel Kauffman recently graduated from Oakville High School and will attend Saint Louis Community College- Forest Park for the Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Degree Programs. This is Rachel’s first year performing with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Rachel discovered her passion for the clarinet when she began playing in sixth grade. Throughout her musical career, Rachel continued to work and improve her musical skills, enabling her to earn and make prestigious ensembles. These ensembles include: Young People’s Symphony Orchestra through the Community Music School of Webster University, Missouri All State Band, All Suburban, and more.

Other musical interests Rachel enjoyed was performing in her high school’s competitive marching band and playing the alto saxophone in her high school’s jazz band. In her spare time, she likes shopping, spending time with friends and family, and visiting art museums. Rachel would like to thank her private instructor Mrs. Lisa Middlekauff for all of her musical expertise and encouragement. She also wants to thank her middle school directors Ms. Lisa McMahon and Mr. Chris Pieper, as well as her high school directors Mr. Vance Brakefield, Mr. Theron Perkowski, and Mr. Chris Ramey for all their guidance and opportunities. Rachel is also thankful for her family and friends’ endless support.
