Youth Orchestra
Yiding Ye
Yiding (Adam) Ye is a 17-year-old senior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. He has been playing the violin for 7 years and this is his second season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Before the SLSYO, Adam was a member of the Webster University Community Music School’s Young People’s Concert and Symphonic Orchestras. He has also participated in the St. Louis All-Suburban Orchestras and the Missouri All-State Orchestra.
Adam fell in love with the violin when he heard the SLSO perform after moving to St. Louis from Shenzhen, China at the age of 10. When he later discovered the SLSYO, he knew he wanted to be a part of this amazing group. Adam has been privileged to study with SLSO violinist Xiaoxiao Qiang and is incredibly grateful for her guidance and encouragement. At school, Adam is the center violinist of the Ladue Strolling Strings and the co-president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. In his free time, Adam enjoys watching anime and eating out with his friends.
Adam would like to thank his past and current music educators, including teachers and conductors from Ladue and CMS, for fueling his passion. He is also incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of his parents, family, and peers throughout his musical journey.
