Friday Morning Classical Concerts

Show your students the power of live orchestral music. Friday morning concerts give students an opportunity to hear the Grammy Award-winning SLSO and experience the highest standard of musicianship. Make the SLSO your next field trip destination. All Friday morning concerts begin at 10:30 am at the Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL. Find the perfect performance for your students on the concert calendar and then contact Group Sales at groups@slso.org to order tickets.

Friday Morning Post-Concert Programs

At select Friday morning concerts, stay after the performance for free lunch and inspiring programming for your music students, grades 8+. School groups must have already purchased tickets to the concert before completing the application. Capacity for post-concert activities is limited. Priority is given to schools in the E. Desmond Lee Fine Arts Education Collaborative at UMSL. Applications will be reviewed after October 2, 2023 and schools will be contacted after that date about the status of their application.

Post-concert activities are created in partnership with the E. Desmond Lee Fine Arts Education Collaborative at UMSL.

Friday, April 19: Beethoven’s Second Piano Concerto

The Concert: Marie-Ange Nguci, “one the most promising talents of her generation,” makes her SLSO debut with Beethoven’s Second Piano Concerto. John Storgårds conducts Nordic works, including Jean Sibelius’s Seventh Symphony tracing a powerfully sonic journey from darkness into light.

Select schools will be invited to participate in post-concert activities. If you’d like to be considered you must complete the application. Capacity is limited and preference is given to schools in the E. Desmond Lee Fine Arts Education Collaborative at UMSL. Please contact education@slso.org with questions regarding post-concert activities.

Subsidized Tickets and Transportation Assistance

Subsidized tickets and transportation are available for qualifying schools on a first-come, first-served basis. When completing the ticket order form, please complete the financial assistance section. Schools must have a free and reduced lunch rate of 50% or greater to qualify.
