Angella Zhang

Alternate
Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Angella Zhang is 15 years old and is a sophomore at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. Angella first started playing music at 6 years old on the piano and has since moved to percussion, making this almost her 6th year of being a percussionist. This will be her first season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

At school, Angella performs in percussion ensembles, jazz band, pep band, and symphonic band. Angella has also performed in multiple other programs, including the All-Suburban Honors Band in middle and high school, Young People’s Orchestra Percussion at the Community Music School of Webster University, and more.

Outside of percussion, Angella enjoys playing chess, tennis, drawing, and spending time with friends and family.

Angella would like to thank her teachers, Erin Elstner and Michael Faris, her family, and everyone else who have supported her throughout her journey to become a better musician.
