Armin Malagic

Armin Malagic is a senior at Webster University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Games Design and Development, with his graduation expected this spring. Malagic is excited for his first season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. He has been a percussionist for nine years and drummer for four, and began studying percussion three years ago as a student at Saint Louis Community College (STLCC) with Thomas Zirkle. 

Malagic has taken part in many performance opportunities. As a student at Bayless High School, he earned top ratings in the Missouri State High School Activities Association’s Solo and Ensemble festival three years in a row, performed with the Des Lee Honor band twice, and received the John Philip Sousa award in recognition of his superior musicianship. Currently, he teaches at Bayless as a percussion instructor under band directors Stephen Elford and Jeff Martini. 

Malagic regularly performs in the St. Louis musical theatre scene as a drummer, percussionist, and pianist. In the last two years, he has performed in over 15 productions at Bayless, Hancock, Ursuline Academy, Fort Zumwalt East, STLCC, and Webster University. He has also worked with local theatre companies like Take Two Productions and Ignite Theatre Company.
