Isaac Finn

Isaac Finn is a senior at Glenwood High School and a member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for his first season. A percussionist and pianist since the age of seven, Finn has developed a passion for both performance and composition. In addition to performing with his school ensembles and local orchestras, he has been recognized as an Illinois All-State musician, an Emma Schafer Scholar, and a member of the Illinois Music Honor Society. He also enjoys composing original music and creating film scores using digital audio production software. 

Finn was drawn to percussion because of the instrument family’s versatility and the opportunity to perform everything from orchestral repertoire to keyboard percussion. One of his favorite musical experiences has been performing in pit orchestras and large ensembles, where he enjoys collaborating with fellow musicians to bring performances to life. Finn also enjoys performing with a small jazz ensemble. Outside of musical performance, he enjoys exploring music production, composing, and continuing to grow as both a performer and a creative artist. 

Finn is deeply grateful to the teachers, conductors, mentors, and fellow musicians who have encouraged his musical growth throughout the years, especially Jeremy Brunk, Jacobsen Wollen, Bill Mitchell, and Susan Cook. He would also like to thank his family for their unwavering support and the countless opportunities they have provided for him to pursue his passion for music.
