Dylan Jamison

Dylan Jamison, 18, is a recent graduate of Pattonville High School and a freshman at Webster University, majoring in Piano Performance. He is excited to be joining the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for his first season. 

Jamison began playing the piano at the age of six and took lessons briefly before quitting. He returned to the instrument in eighth grade, however, and has pursued it ever since. For the past two years, Jamison has studied with Dr. Mark Laverty. During that time, he has performed several full recitals, earned Superior ratings at both the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival and the State Solo & Ensemble Festival, and placed second in the Music Teachers National Association Senior Division. 

In addition to piano, Jamison is also a percussionist, specializing in the drum set. He studied with Kevin Gianino from fourth through twelfth grade and performed with the Pattonville Jazz Ensemble throughout high school. In 2023, he was selected for the All-Suburban Jazz Band and recently received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. 

Outside of music, Jamison enjoys spending time with friends, cooking, and going on walks.
