Emily Royalty

Emily Royalty is currently a junior at Kirkwood High School and is excited to join the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for the first time this season. She started playing the bassoon in 7th grade, and has since then participated in various musical ensembles, such as the Young People’s Concert Orchestra, Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra, and her school’s wind ensemble and woodwind chamber ensemble. In addition, she was selected as an alternate for the Missouri All-Suburban Honor Band as a freshman and sophomore, and as an alternate for the Missouri All-State Honor Band her sophomore year.  

Emily would like to thank her parents first and foremost for supporting and motivating her in her pursuit of music. She would also like to thank all of her band directors at Kirkwood High School, as well as her private music teacher, Jamie Parks, for all their guidance and encouragement.
