Isabella Wang

John Burroughs School

Isabella Wang is a junior at John Burroughs School. She started playing the flute when she was ten and currently studies under Jennifer Nitchman. In 2025, she was a member of the Missouri All-State Orchestra and Webster University’s YPCO. When she was in middle school, she was part of the St. Louis All-Suburban Honor Band. Her other music-related activities include tutoring young flute students in her community, performing for senior citizens, and playing in her school’s Jazz Band.

When not playing the flute, Wang spends her free time reading and writing poetry, as well as going on hikes and learning from entomologists through volunteer programs at the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House.

Wang is extremely grateful to all the people who have supported and guided her music endeavors, including her friends, family, school music teachers, and private instructors; she would like to especially thank Ms. Nitchman, whose enthusiasm and dedication to playing the flute are reflected in everything she teaches.
