Brahms X Radiohead with the SLSO

Think of Johannes Brahms and the rock band Radiohead. Is there much overlap? Concert attendees on February 24 found out just how alike they are when the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performed Brahms X Radiohead, an orchestral fusion of pieces by these musical titans.

Created and conducted by Steve Hackman, Brahms X Radiohead fused elements of Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 with Radiohead’s landmark album OK Computer. The result was a magical evening at Stifel Theatre.

Hackman led the orchestra in Radiohead’s most recognizable song, “Creep,” before traversing the entire album with Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 interwoven. Vocalists Erin Bentlage, Khalil Overton, and Rich Saunders joined the performance, lending their talents to Radiohead’s music.
