Brendan Fitzgerald
Brendan Fitzgerald was appointed to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra double bass section in 2019 by Music Director Stéphane Denève. Prior to this, he spent two seasons in the Seattle Symphony. From 2015 to 2017, he was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, during which time he was a regular substitute musician with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He is a frequent guest in Chicago, San Francisco, and Philadelphia, and summer engagements include the Sun Valley Music Festival, Lakes Area Music Festival, and Bellingham Music Festival where he served as Principal Bass.
Fitzgerald holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University, where he studied with Andy Raciti. Off the stage, he enjoys disc golf, barbecue, craft beer, and hiking. He was appointed to the position of SLSO Assistant Principal Double Bass by Stéphane Denéve in 2024.
