Kate Mueller

Kate Mueller is a freshman at Metro-East Lutheran High School in Edwardsville, Illinois. This is her first year with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She started playing the clarinet while in first grade after convincing the middle school band director that she had the lung capacity to begin lessons. She has performed in the ILMEA District 6 Honors Band since 2019 and was first chair clarinet for the 2022 All-Illinois Junior Honor Band which was held at the University of Illinois. She currently studies clarinet with Mrs. Diana Haskell.

When not playing the clarinet, Kate enjoys listening to the Beatles, reading “Wuthering Heights,” and watching old movies. She would like to thank her family and her music teachers for all their support of her musical education.
