Portrait of Gabe Gibert

Youth Orchestra

W. Gabriel Gibert

Co-Principal

Gabriel Gibert is a St. Louis native who has been playing the bass for nine years. Having previously played in the Webster Community Music School’s Young People’s Concert Orchestra, the St. Louis Philharmonic, Orchestrating Diversity’s River City Philharmonic, and the Florissant Valley Symphonic Orchestra, he is excited for his fourth season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. He has also participated in the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the Webster Jazz Camp, as well as teaching in the YO Peer-To-Peer program for the last two years.

In his free time, Gabe enjoys fostering parrots for St. Louis Avian Rescue, playing chess, and jazz. He also teaches piano lessons for the non-profit Pianos for People. He would like to thank his teachers Tim Weddle, Pat Eastman, and Aleck Belcher for turning him into the player he is today, as well as his parents for supporting him through music beginning at the age of six.
