About this Concert

Known as the “John Williams of Japan,” Joe Hisaishi has created some of the most celebrated film music ever written. His iconic scores for classic Studio Ghibli films, including Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle, have captivated audiences around the globe. Selections from those beloved scores anchor a program of orchestral storytelling and fantasy, joined by Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Overture and other works infused with fairytale and myth. Discover an evening where magic, mystery, and imagination take center stage.
