About this Concert
Experience the magnetism and breathtaking bravura of pianist Yefim Bronfman, celebrated for the “fire and poetry” (The Seattle Post Intelligencer) and “gleaming delicacy” (The Los Angeles Times) of his playing. Renowned for his commanding performances of extraordinary depth and intensity, Bronfman returns to close the 26/27 season with a recital showcasing the power, lyricism, and brilliance that have made him one of today’s most acclaimed pianists.
-
- Yefim Bronfman helped kick off the 2026/27 season in September 2026, appearing as a guest artist during the SLSO’s Opening Weekend concerts with a dazzling performance of Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2. He returns to cap off the season with a solo recital filled with exhilarating works.
- Among Yefim Bronfman’s many accolades, the Washington Post has noted, “His energy emanates from his fingers and swirls out of the piano with such perfection that every note grabs the ear with an expressive, singing quality. When his hands swept the full length of the keyboard in arpeggios and scales, Bronfman made it all look effortless.”
- Widely praised for his solo, chamber, and orchestral recordings, Bronfman has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, winning in 1997 with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic for their recording of the three Bartók Piano Concertos.
