Elijah Flor

O’Fallon Township High School

Elijah Flor, age 15, is a Sophomore at O’Fallon Township High School and is thrilled to begin his first year playing horn with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. He began his musical journey on the horn at age 10 in his 5th-grade band and has been a dedicated musician ever since.

His accomplishments include earning the first chair position in the Junior ILMEA District Band, third chair in the All-Illinois Junior Band, and receiving multiple first superior ratings at solo and ensemble festivals. In addition to the YO, Elijah is an active member of the St. Louis Academy Brass Band, the O’Fallon Township High School Wind Ensemble, and the renowned Marching Panthers.

Outside of music, he enjoys reading, playing games, and spending time with friends. Elijah is deeply grateful to all his mentors and would like to thank his high school band director, Dr. Melissa Gustafson-Hinds; his former teacher, Mr. Timothy Brooks; and especially his father and current teacher, Patrick Flor, for their invaluable guidance.
