Claire Madsen

Claire Madsen, age 16, is a junior at Cor Jesu Academy. She started playing trumpet at age 5 and is thrilled to be returning to the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for her second season. Madsen plays in her school orchestra and has received silver and gold ratings in both the district and state-level Missouri Solo and Ensemble competitions. She has also participated in the St. Louis Metro 8 district band for 4 years and enjoys playing in her church as well.  

Beyond music, Madsen enjoys spending time with friends, running, and is very involved in her school participating in many extracurricular activities. She also loves to help with the middle school band and orchestra program run by Cor Jesu and St. Louis University High School. Madsen is very excited to be returning to the YO this year and would like to thank her parents, grandparents, trumpet teacher, Dr. Kristine Harris, and previous directors for their support, instruction, and encouragement.
