Alexander Sullivan

Alexander Sullivan is 18 years old, and this is his second season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. He graduated from Triad High School and is now a freshman at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Sullivan started playing tuba in sixth grade and has now been playing for 7 years. In that time, he has participated in the Illinois Music Education Conference’s All-State festival for 3 years, including getting 5th chair tuba in the All-State honor band, and he has played in many bands including: the St. Louis Wind Symphony Youth Ensemble, the St. Louis Academy Brass Band, many honor bands, and both the Edwardsville and Alton Municipal band. 

When not playing tuba, he likes to collect decks of cards and watch opera with his grandma. He would like to thank his family, his directors, his instructor, and his friends for always supporting and helping his musical journey.
