Grayson Smith
Grayson Smith has played trumpet for six years; he is seventeen years old and is entering his Senior year at Lafayette High School. He will be entering his fourth year as a member of the Lafayette Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and the Lancer Regiment marching band. Smith was selected to be in the St. Louis All Suburban Band for the past two years and received an honorable mention at All State. He has also earned gold and silver ratings at the suburban and state levels of solo and ensemble. This is his second year as a member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, as well as his second year in JazzU.
Smith also strives to work hard in the classroom, participating in many AP and honors courses. Smith also enjoys using his free time to play DnD and play with his dog. Smith has been studying under his private lesson teachers, Hannah Marroquin and Dustin Shrum, and would like to thank them and his band director, Brad Balog, for all their teaching and help along his musical journey. He would also like to thank his parents and his sister for their support of his passion for music, and a special thanks to his aunt for the wonderful gift of his trumpet!
