Priya Ramotar
Priya Ramotar is a second-year student at Washington University in St. Louis, pursuing a major in Neuroscience with a minor in Music. This is her first year in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Priya’s musical journey started at 5 years old when she began studying piano. Beginning at the age of 11, she picked up the flute in continuation of her musical endeavors.
In high school, Priya was a part of both the Wind Ensemble and Marching Band, where she served as the head drum major her senior year. For 5 consecutive years, Priya placed in the TMEA All-Region band. At WashU, Priya participates in the Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Chris Becker.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Priya loves country music and good BBQ. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, puzzles, working out and reading. Priya studies with Dr. Jennifer Gartley and would like to thank her, along with her family and past instructors, for their continued support for her musical ambitions.
