Youth Orchestra

Ava O’Bryan

Asst. Principal
Parkway Central High School

Ava O’Bryan is 17 years old and attends Parkway Central High School. She is in her senior year, and this is her third year with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. She began violin in third grade before switching to viola in seventh grade; she currently plays violin, viola, piano, cello, acoustic bass, electric bass, and sings. She wants to teach music someday and founded a program at Green Trails Elementary school with her high school director, Alicia Bont, to work with young string students. Previously, she won four awards at the state level of solo and ensemble for both viola and choral work. In her free time, she enjoys playing her instruments, reading, writing, and composing. She would like to thank the entire Parkway Central music department as well as her wonderful family, her friends, and her lesson teacher, Chris Tantillo.
