Noah Lipe

Noah Lipe is 17 years old and is a senior at John Burroughs School. Lipe has played the cello for ten years, and this is his fourth season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Lipe was a member of the Missouri All-State Orchestra in 2024, 2025, and 2026. He also played in the Webster University Community Music School’s Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra for three years and the Young People’s Concert Orchestra for three years, being the principal cellist his last year. He is a founding member of the John Burroughs Piano Trio, John Burroughs String Quartet, and a leader of the Burroughs Performance Club, bringing the joy of music around the St. Louis community.  

Aside from playing the cello, Lipe enjoys gardening, working as a marine biologist, volunteering as an educator at the Missouri Botanical Gardens and the St. Louis Zoo, and working as a lab technician at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.  

Lipe would like to thank many people for supporting his musical journey over the past ten years, including Dr. Anita Hagerman for always bringing smiles to the orchestra room; his parents for leading the way; and mostly, Mr. Ken Kulosa for his outstanding instruction.
