Steven Shaw

Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Steven Shaw is a cellist who is starting their first year in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. He is a 14 year old who is a freshman at Ladue Horton Watkins High School and has played cello since the age of 5. Steven has gone through the orchestra program at the Community Music School of Webster University, including Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra, and also plays in his school orchestra. Last year, he started playing in chamber music with the Preparatory Program of CMS.

He is very grateful for his current and past teachers Dr. Catherine Lehr Ramos and Mr. Kenneth Kulosa, the orchestra directors for which he has played, including Mr. Patrick Jackson of CMS and Ms. Twinda Murry of the Ladue Schools District, as well as anyone else who has helped him on his musical journey. He also thanks his parents and especially his sisters, who nurtured his passion for music.

In his free time, Steven enjoys reading, listening to music, and ice skating.
