Samuel Noh

Samuel Noh is a senior at Ritenour High School and is excited for his first season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. He began studying the cello at age 10 with Gary Lee and currently studies with James Czyzewski. 

Noh has performed with a variety of ensembles, including his school orchestra and the Community Music School of Webster University’s String Orchestra, Young People’s Concert Orchestra, and Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra. He has also participated in the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis, Credo St. Louis, the St. Louis All-Suburban Orchestra, and the St. Louis Youth Ambassadors Orchestra. This past spring, Noh participated in the Missouri Music Educators Association’s Solo and Ensemble festivals, earning several gold ratings at the state level. 

Outside of music, Noh enjoys playing football, working out, volunteering in his community through the St. Louis Youth Ambassadors and Kids Enjoy Exercise Now, and participating in church activities. 

Samuel is grateful to his teachers, James Czyzewski and Gary Lee, as well as orchestra directors Blake Hernton, Patrick Jackson, and Sarah Klevorn Dane for their guidance and encouragement. He also sincerely thanks his family and friends for their unwavering love and support throughout his musical journey.
