Aston Liang

Aston Liang is a junior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. This year will be his first season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. 

Liang has been playing cello for eight years, following in his older brother’s footsteps. His favorite aspect of the instrument is the deep and rich sound that it adds to an orchestra. He has performed in various programs at the Community Music School of Webster University (CMS) and won the 2025 Preparatory Program Scholarship. He has been a member of the Missouri All-State Orchestra for the past two years. 

Beyond cello, Liang enjoys reading, growing plants, spending time with his cats, and practicing Chinese martial arts. 

Liang would like to thank every teacher and conductor he has worked with, including but not limited to his cello teacher, Mr. Ken Kulosa, for his instruction and inspiration; Ladue orchestra teachers, Ms. Sarah Heuermann and Mr. Xinyi Lu, for their guidance and encouragement; and Ms. Vera Parkin for her support. He is grateful to his family for motivating him to improve and grow as a cellist.
