Charles McGrath is a senior at Washington University studying Environmental Policy with minors in history and geospatial science. He started playing the violin at five years old and is excited to play with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for a fourth time. He is thankful for his past teachers Brennan Sweet, Kyle Lombard, Amy Appold, and Siri Geenen. In high school he was assistant concertmaster of the New Jersey All-State orchestra and concertmaster of the New Jersey Youth Symphony. At WashU he was a member of the Symphony Orchestra and plays in the chamber music program.
Aside from playing the violin, Charles loves listening to classical music and true crime podcasts. He also enjoys playing tennis and hiking.
