Zoe Baldwin

Zoe Baldwin, a senior at Clayton High School, studies with Joo Kim. She began studying violin at age four with Renita Luehrman and also studied with Angie Smart. Baldwin has been a member of several orchestras at the Webster University Community Music School (CMS), and in 2021, she soloed with the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra. Baldwin has also been a winner of the Odyssey Pre-Collegiate Concerto Competition, First Prize Winner of the St. Louis Civic Orchestra’s Concerto Competition, co-winner of the University of Missouri-St. Louis Concerto Competition, First Prize Winner of the Alton Symphony Concerto Competition, First Prize Winner of the St. Louis Philharmonic Concerto Competition, Grand Prize Winner of the Rader Young Artist Competition, Second Prize Winner of the Belleville Philharmonic Solo Competition, and First Prize Winner of the Town and Country Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. In 2025, Baldwin won the Missouri Music Teachers National Association’s Senior Strings Competition, going on to compete at the regional level.  

This is Baldwin’s fifth season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She has also spent three years as a member of the Missouri All-State Orchestra. During the summer, Baldwin has attended the Arianna Chamber Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Madeline Island Chamber Music Festival, and Center Stage Strings. An avid chamber musician, Baldwin participated in the CMS Preparatory Program and the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis’ Chamber Academy as a founding member of the Lyra Quartet. With her quartet, she was a finalist and Audience Prize Winner at the 2025 Saint Paul String Quartet Competition, and a quarterfinalist of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in 2026.
