Elsa Heaton

Home Educated

Elsa Heaton is excited to join the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra this year! She is 12 years old, home educated, and will be in 7th grade. She lives in Fulton, Missouri, and studies violin with Angie Smart.

At the age of 4, she began taking violin lessons with David Liu, and for several years participated in the Suzuki Strings program of the Community Music School of Webster University. Also at the CMS, she played in the String Ensemble and the Young People’s Concert Orchestra. In between those seasons, she played in the Primo Strings ensemble of the St. Charles County Youth Orchestra. Additionally, she loves to play piano and takes lessons with Vera Parkin. Aside from music, she enjoys playing golf, drawing, gardening, reading, creative writing, and designing dollhouses with her older sister, Sophia.

Elsa has much to be thankful for, including her parents and grandparents, who are encouraging and supportive of her music education. She is also grateful for her music teachers, both past and present. Above all, she is thankful to God, the source of all blessings.
