Youth Orchestra
Nathaniel Bian
Nathaniel Bian is a Junior at Marquette High School. The 2026-2027 season will be his second in the YO. Bian began to play violin at the age of 8 and currently studies under Pavel Ilyashov. Besides playing with the YO, he has participated in other musical engagements such as his school’s Symphonic Orchestra, the Preparatory Program at Webster University, and solo competitions.
Outside of his musical life, Bian loves to read, exercise, and play with his younger brother. He participates in business and finance competitions and wishes to study in those fields. However, Bian still has a great passion and admiration for music and would like to bring along his violin wherever life takes him.
Bian would like to thank Brad Besand, Michael Blackwood, Eve Chamberlain, Laura Holzen, Pavel Ilyashov, Mikhail Lobko, Patrick Ordway, and any other friends and mentors who have supported him throughout his musical development. These individuals have helped him develop his unique interpretation of music and nurtured his appreciation for the arts.
