Jane Abigail Cho
Jane Abigail Cho is a 14-year-old violinist and a freshman at Parkway West High School. She has been playing the violin for eight years and is excited to begin her first season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Cho studies privately with Pavel Ilyashov and previously studied with Bailey Salinero.
Before joining the YO, Cho performed in every orchestra offered through the Community Music School of Webster University’s music program, including the String Ensemble, String Orchestra, the Young People’s Concert Orchestra, and the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra (YPSO). She is also a member of the St. Louis Youth Ambassador Orchestra, whose mission is to develop young leaders through musical experiences that foster cultural understanding. One of her favorite musical experiences was traveling to New York City with the YPSO to perform at Carnegie Hall. Cho also served as concertmaster of her middle school orchestra under the direction of Rebecca Pantano.
Outside of music, Cho is a member of the varsity Longhorn line dance team. She enjoys being involved in her church, spending time with friends, and serving her community. Cho is grateful for the guidance of her teachers and mentors, including Pavel Ilyashov, Bailey Salinero, Rebecca Pantano, and Patrick Jackson, as well as the support of her family. She looks forward to growing as a musician through the YO.
