Youth Orchestra
Jemima Tzeng
Jemima Tzeng is a freshman attending Mary Institute and Country Day School (MICDS). She has been playing the violin for 9 years, starting at age 5. Tzeng is excited for her first season with the Saint Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Over the past 3 years, Tzeng has played with several ensembles in the greater St. Louis area including the Community Music School of Webster University’s Young People’s Concert Orchestra, where she was Concertmaster, Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra, and Virtuosi at MICDS. She has been a winner of the Missouri Music Teachers Association and received second place in the Southern Illinois Young Artist Competition. Outside of violin, Tzeng enjoys squash, spending time with her family, baking and hanging out with friends.
Tzeng would like to thank teachers Angie Smart, Joo Kim, Vera Parkin and Sam Moraes for all their time, patience and wisdom to help her become a better violinist. Special thanks to her parents, grandparents and siblings for all their support.
