Charis, 12 years old, began playing violin at the age of 4, and is currently a student of Joo Kim. She is excited to join the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for the first time.

Previously, Charis participated in the Community Music School of Webster University programs. At the age of 10, Charis made her public solo debut with the Alton Symphony Orchestra as their Deborah Fox Guild award recipient. In 2023, she performed with the CMS Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra as a winner of the YPSO concerto competition.

Charis attributes much of her success to her teachers, orchestra directors, and parents for their endless support and encouragement. Beyond music, Charis enjoys drawing, playing sports games, watching K-drama and spending time with her dog.
