Miriam Truong

Miriam Truong is a 14-year-old freshman who has been playing violin for eight years. She is excited for her first season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She began playing violin at the age of six, studying under Anne Branch, and she currently studies with her wonderful teacher Winifred Crock.  

Truong previously participated in the St. Charles County Youth Orchestra program for three years. Last year, she served as the concertmaster of the Young People’s Concert Orchestra at the Community Music School of Webster University. Truong also enjoyed attending the summer Credo program in St. Louis.  

In addition to violin, Truong started playing piano at age 10 with Katie Kopff, and currently studies with Liana Merdian. She has also begun teaching herself guitar. Apart from music, she enjoys baking, swimming, playing ultimate frisbee, and hanging out with friends.  

Truong is so grateful for all the gifted musicians and teachers who have invested in her over the years and would like to give special thanks to Winifred Crock, Anne Branch, Liana Merdian, Katie Kopff, Sarah Dane, Daniel Mieloch and, of course, her parents for their unwavering support. Most of all, she is grateful to God for His guidance and how He has used music in her life.
