Molly Wang

Molly Wang is 16 years old and a junior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. This is her first season in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, and she is very grateful for the opportunity. She began learning the violin at the age of 7 and currently studies with Xiaoxiao Qiang. 

Previously, Wang has played in the Young People’s Concert Orchestra and Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra (YPSO) of Webster University’s Community Music School (CMS). She is very grateful to have performed in Carnegie Hall while in YPSO. In past summers she has also participated in the CMS’s Chamber Music Encounter program. Since the age of 13, Wang has performed at the district level of Solo and Ensemble, earning exemplary ratings. Recently, she played in the Missouri All-State Orchestra in 2026 and has performed in a quartet with the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis’s Chamber Academy. At Ladue, she enjoys mentoring younger violinists in the Music Notes program. 

Outside of the violin, Wang enjoys baking desserts, competing in DECA, and spending time outdoors with her tortoise, Cici. Wang thanks her teacher, Xiaoxiao Qiang, her school orchestra teachers, and her family for supporting her, plus having to listen to her practice over the years.
