Y. Elizabeth Hung

Ladue Horton Watkins High School

Elizabeth Hung is a freshman at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. She began violin at the age of four and is very excited to start her first season with St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

In addition to playing in her school’s orchestra, Elizabeth has participated in multiple orchestras at the Community Music School of Webster University for the past six years and the Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis “Share the Stand” program since 2021. She also played in various Chamber groups in the summer with CMS since 2018 and Point CounterPoint this year.

Outside of violin, she enjoys drawing, watching K-Dramas, and playing ice hockey. She is a member of the all-girls hockey club, the St. Louis Lady Cyclones. She is also learning Erhu and plays with the St. Louis Traditional Chinese Music Ensemble.

Elizabeth would like to thank her past and current teachers Ms. Nora Teipen and Mr. Joe Kaminsky, and her orchestra music directors Ms. Twinda Murry and Mr. Patrick Jackson, for their instructions and encouragement. She would also like to thank her family for their support throughout her musical journey.
