Youth Orchestra
Dora Yu
Dora Yu is an 8th grader at Ladue Middle School and is excited to participate in her first season as a member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Yu has played viola for three years and adores its warm, rich and deep sound. She also appreciates the viola’s integral role in an orchestra by adding depth through harmonies. Outside of the YO, Yu has participated in the 2026 Credo festival and in the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis’s Chamber Academy program since 2025.
When she is not practicing viola and piano, Yu enjoys drawing and studying with her friends in her free time. She would like to thank her mother for supporting her musical endeavors, her grandmother for her persistent encouragement, and her mentors Jessica Platt and Jan Deats for their guidance.
