Jean Park

Jean Park is a 16-year-old junior at Marquette High School and is in her third season with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She began piano at age five and violin at eight. Since fifth grade, she has studied with Pavel Ilyashov. 

Park has performed with the Young People’s Concert Orchestra (YPCO) and Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra (YPSO) at the Community Music School (CMS) of Webster University. She served as Concertmaster of YPSO from 2023 to 2026, performing at Carnegie Hall in spring 2025. In 2025 and 2026, Park was selected to the Missouri All-State Orchestra. From 2023 to 2025, she studied chamber music through the CMS Preparatory Program. 

Park has participated in the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Ascent International Chamber Music Festival, and Credo Chamber Music Festival St. Louis. In 2024, she won the Rising Talents Youth Concerto Competition and made her solo debut with the Town & Country Symphony Orchestra. She received the Silver Prize in the Division III Strings category at the 2026 Saint Louis Area Music Teachers Association Young Artist Competition. In 2023, Park won the Missouri Music Teachers Association Competition (Strings 7th–9th Grade Division), and was named a Rader Young Artist by the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis. 

Park serves as Co-General Director and Concertmaster of the St. Louis Youth Ambassadors, where she values giving back to the community through music. Outside of music, she enjoys writing and photography and serves as Editor-in-Chief of her school’s yearbook staff. 

Park is deeply grateful to her teachers and family for their constant encouragement and support. She is especially thankful to God for His faithful guidance throughout her musical journey and for every opportunity she has been given.
